Biography

Arturo Rodriguez is a composer, conductor, and pianist, who was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and has had a diverse and successful career in the world of music. His compositions have been performed by prestigious orchestras worldwide, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Boston Pops, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and many major orchestras in Mexico.
Rodriguez’s musical journey started at a young age when he made his debut as a piano soloist at 15. His talent and dedication were recognized when he became the youngest recipient of Mexico’s Mozart Medal at the age of 17, an award given by the Austrian Embassy in Mexico. He furthered his education by studying piano with renowned pianist Jose Feghali, who won the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
Continuing his studies, Arturo Rodriguez pursued orchestral conducting with mentors German Gutierrez and Stanley DeRusha. While still an undergraduate student, he premiered his first two symphonic works, Mosaico Mexicano and From Earth to Mars, with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the TCU Symphony Orchestra and chorus, respectively.
He completed his piano and conducting studies at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX, and Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Additionally, he expanded his expertise into film scoring by attending workshops and institutes, such as the Aspen Music Festival, ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in Hollywood, and the Sundance Music Institute, where he was a composer fellow.
Some of his recent projects include composing the orchestral score for the film The Mistress, directed by Greg Pritikin, and completing the music composition for the 3rd season (120 episodes) of the animated series Victor and Valentino for Cartoon Network.
