You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah! (also known as simply, Bat Mitzvah) is a 2023 American comedy-drama film based on the 2005 adult novel of the same name by Fiona Rosenbloom. It’s directed by Sammi Cohen and produced by Adam Sandler. The movie stars Sunny Sandler, Samantha Lorraine, Idina Menzel, Jackie Sandler, Adam Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Dylan Hoffman, Sarah Sherman, Dan Bulla, Ido Mosseri, Jackie Hoffman, and Luis Guzman.
The story revolves around two best friends, Stacy Friedman and Lydia Rodriguez Katz, who have always dreamed of having unforgettable bat mitzvahs. However, their plans take a comedic turn when a popular boy and middle school drama start to jeopardize their friendship and their important rite of passage. As they compete for his attention, their bond and their celebration are put to the test.
The film was produced by Happy Madison Productions and Alloy Entertainment and was released on Netflix on 25th August 2023. Principal photography took place in Toronto, Canada, from 29th June to 11th August 2022.
