Breaking (earlier known as 892) is a 2022 American thriller drama film based on the 2018 article They Didn’t Have to Kill Him by Aaron Gell. The film is written by Abi Damaris Corbin and Kwame Kwei-Armah, directed by Abi Damaris Corbin, produced by Salmira Productions, EPIC Magazine, Little Lamb and UpperRoom Productions, distributed by Bleecker Street, stars John Boyega, Michael Kenneth Williams, Nicole Beharie, Selenis Leyva, Connie Britton, Jeffrey Donovan, Robb Derringer, Olivia Washington, London Covington, and Kim D’Armond.
Breaking premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on 21st January and is set to release in theaters on 26th August 2022.
