Dragonkeeper is a 2024 Spanish-Chinese computer-animated fantasy adventure film based on Carole Wilkinson’s novel of the same name, an adaptation of the first novel in Wilkinson’s six-book saga. The story is set in Han Imperial China and revolves around a young enslaved girl named Ping and an ancient dragon named Long Danzi. The animation is directed by Salvador Simo and Li Jianping, produced by China Film Animation and Dragoia Media, Movistar Plus, Guardian de Dragones AIE, and Atresmedia Cine, distributed by A Contracorriente Films, China Film Group and Viva Pictures, Viva Kids and Hulu in the US. Starring (voices) – Bill Nighy, Bill Bailey, Anthony Howell, and Mayalinee Griffiths.
Dragonkeeper premiered at the Malaga Film Festival on 1st March 2024 and is set to be released in the US cinema on 3rd May 2024.
