Held for Ransom is a 2019 internationally biographical drama film, based on the true story of Danish photojournalist Daniel Rye. The film is written by Anders Thomas Jensen, directed by Niels Arden Oplev, stars Esben Smed, Anders W. Berthelsen, Toby Kebbell, Ardalan Esmaili, Sofie Torp, and Sara Hjort Ditlevsen.
Held for Ransom was premiered on 29th August 2019 in Denmark and premiered in the US on 15th October 2021.
