Tron: Ares (also known as Tron 3, Tron: Ascension, or TR3N) is a 2025 American action-adventure science fiction film, a sequel to Disney‘s sci-fi film Tron (1982) and action science fiction film Tron: Legacy / Tron 2 (2010), the third installment in the Tron film series. The sequel is written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, directed by Joachim Ronning, produced by Paradox and Walt Disney Pictures, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures in December 2025. Jared Leto was announced as a new character named Ares, also starring Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Sarah Desjardins, and Cameron Monaghan.
